  Mirage smiled at him, well aware that he could not have seen it coming, yet if she was to be surprised by his action, which also delighted her, perhaps he might feel the same.

  “It is her mental age,” she told him, as the child still clung tightly. “She has my mind, after all.”

  “Is this what she is going to look like?” he questioned, as he looked down at her, at the same time that she looked up at him, with deep blue eyes.

  “As far as I can tell,” the little girl answered.
